The Massage Therapist at Ladies & Gentlemen manipulates bodily tissues manually for the purpose of affecting the muscular and nervous systems and the general circulation/relaxation of the body.
Essential Functions:
- Applies the techniques of scientific massage to assist in the rehabilitation of sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations, as well as to help eliminate pain from neurotic, arthritis, and rheumatic conditions
- Applies massage to relieve various forms of paralysis, insomnia, migraine headaches, and other conditions caused by poor functioning of the nervous system
- Stimulates the circulatory system with massage to reduce convalescent periods and improve many conditions after surgery
- Provides relief of muscle tightness caused by stress
- Works with various agents to complement massage, including, but not limited to the application of heat and light, hydrotherapy, and exercise
- Applies alcohol, lubricants, or other rubbing compounds
- Massages body, using such techniques as kneading, rubbing, and stroking flesh, to stimulate blood circulation, relax, contracted muscles, facilitated elimination of waste matter, or to relieve other conditions
- Examines clients and recommends body conditioning activities, treatments, or products.
- Records treatments furnished to customers
- Responsible for completing the tasks necessary to continuously build your business through referrals, suggestive selling, education, etc
- Provides every client an experience as outlined by Aveda
- Answers detailed questions about services provided
- Recommends corrective services to adjust customer challenges, as required
- Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise or service
- Expected to maintain positive client retention, productivity, prebooking and service and retail sales as guided by Spa Manager
- Assist Spa Coordinator, Spa Supervisor, and/or Spa Manager as needed
- Maintain State Board Guidelines and Regulations of assigned work area and entire spa/salon
